What we do
We partner with schools across Pennsylvania to complete school-based bilingual psychoeducational evaluations for Spanish/English learners only.
Our evaluations support special education teams in making legally defensible, culturally informed, and language-appropriate decisions.

Cognitive and academic assessments
Parent interviews conducted in Spanish only
Spanish-language rating scales for parents (when concerns in social-emotional, behavioral, or adaptive areas exist)
Language dominance surveys when appropriate
Consultation and collaboration with the onsite school psychologist (who serves as case manager)
Prereferral consultation
Participation in eligibility meetings
Interpretation services for multidisciplinary evaluation (MDE) meetings for students evaluated by Bilingual Roots

We offer both in-person and virtual services depending on your location:
In-person evaluations are available for schools located in South Central PA, specifically York, Lancaster, and Dauphin Counties and are within a one-hour commute of York, PA. All in-person testing is conducted at the student’s school, during school hours.
Virtual evaluations are provided for schools outside the one-hour service radius, with minimal setup required: A quiet empty room, computer with internet access, writing utensil & staff member to accompany/escort student until testing is completed.
